Requirements for Approved Projects:
  1. A Research Contract must be signed by the institution and MTAP in order for MTAP to support the research project.
  2. Progress and Expenditure Reports
    Quarterly written reports on the performance of the research and expenditures for the research must be submitted. A comprehensive final written report on the performance of the research and expenditures for the research must be submitted within 30 days from the project end date or project termination date.

  3. Patent and Discoveries
    All inventions made with the support in whole or in part by MTAP must be reported at the earliest practical time to MTAP. Any such inventions and/or intellectual property shall be, subject to applicable law and any royalty, license or other agreement with the institution in which such property is developed, the sole property of MTAP.
  4. Publication
    1. The principal investigator and his/her institution may not publish or publicly disclose the results of the research supported by MTAP until six months after the termination of the project or submission of a final written report. However, if one wishes to publish the research results prior to this time, MTAP must be informed of this intent to publish and be provided with a draft of the material to be published. MTAP shall have 30 days after receipt of the draft to request in writing the removal of portions deemed by MTAP to contain confidential information owned by MTAP or request a delay in submission of the draft for publication pending MTAP’s application for patent protection.
    2. The institution is required to furnish MTAP with one reprint or copy of any published report or research project supported in whole or in part by MTAP. Any such publication should carry a credit line reading, “Supported in part by a Research Agreement with CLF Medical Technology Acceleration Program, Inc.”
  5. Publicity
    The institution will cooperate with MTAP in announcement through the news media of agreements awarded, subject to the Principal Investigator’s approval of the content of any news release prepared by MTAP.
